Pippa Lightfoot

Biography

Pippa Lightfoot is an award-winning artist specialising in oil painting and printmaking. One of Western Australia’s most experienced artists and art educators, she studied in Perth and London and holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and Masters Degree in Fine Art, Curtin University. She has won several National Awards including the prestigious Perth International Prize for Drawing; the National Book Design Award (twice) and Open Print Award PAWA; and was Highly Commended Finalist (twice) in the Fremantle Print Award. In 2021 she won an award in the Claremont Art Awards and was acquired by the City of Melville Art Collection. Lightfoot was Returning Artist in Residence in Venice 2019 and her artwork was acquired for their prestigious permanent collection.

Artist Statement

I have been a practising artist ever since graduating in 1965 and my work is represented in many private and public collections, notably AGWA, NGA, National Library Canberra, Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venice.
